If your product docs, FAQs, or internal wiki already live in Notion, you don't need to copy anything into a new tool. Lumen Chat can read directly from your workspace and keep answering from it as it changes.
1. Add Notion as a source
From Document Sources in your dashboard, choose Notion and click connect. You'll be redirected to Notion's OAuth screen to authorize access — Lumen Chat never asks for your password, and you can revoke access from Notion at any time.
2. Pick specific databases, not your whole workspace
After authorizing, you'll see a picker listing the databases Notion has shared with the integration. Select only the ones that should power your chatbot — a public FAQ database, for example — and leave internal planning docs out entirely. Nothing outside what you select is ever synced.
3. Let it index
Once selected, Lumen Chat pulls the pages in those databases, chunks the content, and makes it searchable by the chatbot. This takes anywhere from a few seconds to a couple of minutes depending on how much content you've selected.
4. Keep it current
Notion pages change constantly. Turn on auto-sync so edits in Notion show up in chatbot answers without you doing anything — see our auto-sync guide for how the schedule works, or trigger a manual sync any time from the source's page.
